#GivingTuesdayNow

Facebook marks today, Tuesday, May 5, 2020, as #GivingTuesdayNow. Giving Tuesday Now is a global day of giving and unity as an emergency response to COVID-19. Today, a movement of generosity is taking place and you can be a part of it! You can participate by completing any type of generous act.

For #GivingTuesdayNow, SafeHomes Domestic Violence Center is asking our community for help in the form of monetary donations to support the shelter. Crisis calls declined when the shelter-in-place order in Georgia went into effect. However, now that restrictions are beginning to be lifted, crisis calls are on the rise since victims are beginning to be able to reach out for help.

Any donation, no matter what the amount, can go a long way in supporting a victim of domestic violence. Some of this includes:
$10 covers the cost for a CHILDS PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION
$25 covers the cost to SHELTER A CLIENT FOR ONE NIGHT
$50 provides a BUS PASS FOR TWO MONTHS to transport a client to and from their job
$150 CLIENT’S UTILITY DEPOSIT for their new home
$650 covers the cost of CLIENT’S FIRST MONTH”S RENT when exiting the shelter

Anything helps. Donate now.

We understand that this is a financially straining time for a lot of our Jingle Jammers. If you’re not able to give, it’s okay! There are still several ways that you can help SafeHomes during #GivingTuesdayNow.
COVID-19 has caused the cancellation of many things, but giving back isn’t canceled. Give back today by supporting SafeHomes. Don’t forget to also continue to support our local businesses. We love you Jingle Jammers and continue to keep you and your families in our thoughts.
