The Year Our Finish Time Record was Defeated

We expected a lot going into our 2019 season. One thing that took us by surprise was a new finish time record! As we near the sound of the shotgun going off at the starting line, signaling our runners to start, there is an anticipation in the air. The runners that place themselves at the very front of the JJ10K crowd are all aiming for the same thing- to run their best and, hopefully, finish first.

Mark White did just that. As soon as we took off, he very quickly took the lead. Mark maintained a steady time of about 5 minutes and 28 seconds per mile. He trailed closely behind our pace car as he increased the distance between himself and his fellow Jingle Jammers. Even our JJ10K Board of Directors who lead the pack with the pace car were shocked at the speed of his pace and wondered if he would hold his pace until the finish line.

He crossed the finish line with a time of 32 minutes and 46 seconds, which earned him a new Jingle Jam 10K record-breaking time. We continue to wish Mark the best in his running journey as he continues to run with Augusta University. Will Mark join us for our 10th anniversary in December to break his record? I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
