In the United States, six million women are beaten each year by their husbands and boyfriends. In Richmond County, Georgia, more than 2,500 cases are prosecuted annually involving domestic violence.
Our race director, Goldei, broke her silence when she founded Jingle Jam 10K as a way to gift survivors of DV, those that we lost to DV, and those currently being affected by DV. This year’s theme for Jingle Jam 10K is “Survivors Speak.” We hope that by sharing the stories of those affected, we can bring awareness to DV as well as empower those in domestic violence relationships to know that they are not alone.
We are accepting two types of written submissions:
- – Survivor Submission: It is your time to speak out. Share your story or a quote about your transformation from victim to survivor.
- – “In Honor” Submission: This is for those whose life has been impacted by domestic violence through a loved one. Submit your story, quote, or song lyric to dedicate “In Honor” of your loved one.
