“I’ve been running for 4 years. I run because I love being outside, so running is the perfect sport for that. Running is a great way to unwind from everything else that might be going on in your life. It clears my mind. It’s my special me-time. I have ran the JJ10k 3 times now and just love the event. I had just trained for a half marathon so the timing of a 10k was perfect. I run about 4 times a week at various distances. I really would like to run a marathon one day. Maybe later this year or next year. Until then, it will more more halfs and 10ks.”
2nd Place
Kelly Miller
Finish Time 52:22

“I’ve been running for about 14 years. Running is my stress relief. I also love the feeling of accomplishment after a long hard run. In my early 30’s, I began running longer distances and decided to train for a marathon. I qualified for Boston in my first marathon, but have struggled with injuries ever since. In the last several months, I found a physical therapist who has been able to find the root cause of all of my injuries and has helped me to get back to the sport I love. I decided to run the JJ10K because I am finally healthy enough to participate. I slowly increased my mileage over a span of 2 months, but also cross trained on the bike and lift weights a few times per week. I hope to continue to improve and become injury free. I would like to be able to run a half marathon later this year and possibly go the full distance in the coming years.”
3rd Place
Anna Workman
Finish Time 56:53

“I’ve been running for 20 years. It makes me feel good about myself physically and mentally. I ran JJ10K because its fun to do. I run an average of 6-8 miles 4-5 x a week. I really don’t train for it!! My goal is to run another half marathon before I’m 50.”
