“I started running at age 11, so that’s over 40 years now! I love being outside, no matter what the weather is and I always see something interesting. Running is the easiest way for me to stay healthy, plus it’s the best way to clear my head – I can think about everything or nothing at all. There are few problems that a good run can’t fix! And no matter how long or short my run is, it always gives me a great sense of accomplishment.
I’d run the the Jingle Jam the first couple of years, but then it always fell on my weekend to work, so I was excited to be able to run it again. This race has a fun, laid-back atmosphere with so many people running in costume! Plus, it raises money for a good cause. I run 4 days a week – anywhere from 3 to 13 miles a day. My short term goal is to run a 10K faster than my age (54 minutes). Middle term goal to run 50 half marathons (I’ve completed 32 so far). My long term goal is to continue to run for the rest of my life!”
