The Best Charity Runs in Georgia

The best charity runs in Georgia are more than just an excellent way to stay fit. They’re a way to give back to your community and help those who need it most. From the S’morevivor 5K, which raises money for local children with cancer, to Jingle Jam 10K, which helps fund local charities and organizations, there are plenty of opportunities to run for a cause if you live in Georgia. This is our Top 5 favorite charity runs in Georgia:

Best Charity Run #5: S’morevivor

Our board of directors supports our local Girl Scouts annually by purchasing boxes (upon boxes) of cookies. Of course, we must mention The S’morevivor 5K as one of our top charity runs. This 5K is the perfect charity event for those who want to do good and have fun at the same time. It’s a 5k trail run with a twist: you can only eat s’mores if you cross the finish line!

This isn’t just a typical 5K trail run. It’s a trail run followed by a four-person team challenge to tackle fun outdoor activities. We’re talking canoeing, archery, S’mores making, and more! Their 2022 race was this past September, but you can subscribe and follow them to keep an eye out for the next one!

Best Charity Run #4: Heroes for Hope 5K Run/Walk

Bust out those superhero costumes and run (or walk!) the Lake Olmstead Trailhead. This charity race is held annually by Child Enrichment, an Augusta non-profit that provides and coordinates comprehensive intervention, stabilization, advocacy, and prevention in the best interests of abandoned, abused, neglected, sexually abused, and sex-trafficked children.

What makes this an outstanding charity run, other than the cause it supports, is that it’s SUPER family-friendly. Your kiddos will enjoy running alongside their favorite superheroes and can even participate in a ten-and-under Fun Run!

Best Charity Run #3: Heart and Sole 5K

The Heart and Sole 5K benefits the Children’s Hospital of Georgia and is held annually in March. This 5K was founded to provide the Children’s Hospital of Georgia’s Heart Program with the tools and support needed to provide care to children similar to Bowen, the sweet baby girl that Heart and Sole was created in honor of. This course takes you along and around the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

Best Charity Run #2: FireK 5K

We’ve had the privilege of hosting a JJ10K table at Fire 5K for numerous years, and it is a race that we continue to love and support. FireK FiveK is a non-profit charity race that raises funds for firefighters and their family members battling cancer. Just like JJ10K, FireK 5K is run annually by volunteers who work hard to create a fun and meaningful race. A 5K, a 1-mile fun run, bouncy houses, a live DJ, and food…need we say more?

Best Charity Run #1: Jingle Jam 10K

Of course, we had to name Jingle Jam 10K our favorite charity run in Georgia! We’re a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that raises funds to support SafeHomes Domestic Violence Center through our love of fitness and running. So what makes this race unique? JJ10K was created by a domestic violence survivor who transformed her life through the services that SafeHomes provides. Therefore, Jingle Jam 10K is more than the best holiday road race in the CSRA. It is also a way to celebrate the lives that have been restored from abuse and honor the angels we lost to domestic violence.

Conclusion

If you’re looking for a great way to get out of your comfort zone and give back, running a charity race is an excellent option. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just starting on the road to health, there are plenty of options in Georgia that make it easy to participate in something meaningful—and have fun doing it!
